Pet First Aid from the American Safety & Health Institute is a class that is intended for anyone that is interested in caring for their pet during an emergency.
The class is intended for dog and cat lovers with little to no pet first aid experience.
Students will learn in a classroom environment and have the opportunity to practice various hands on skills with CPR mannequins and plush stuffed animals.
In the CPR portion of the class, our CPR dog manikin allows you to learn how to do effective chest compressions and rescue breathing and how to locate a pulse on your pet. For the First Aid portion of the class lets you practice bandaging, splinting, and other first aid techniques on pets.
**The ASHI Pet First Aid program is approved by the ASPCA.**
Skills and information students will learn in this class:
NOTE: For those who would like to Pay In-Person at the Beginning of a Group Class, it will be $65 / person in a Group Class.

- How to restrain a sick or injured animal
- How to help a choking dog or cat
- How to check a pulse on a dog or cat
- Pet CPR
- How to do a physical assessment (snout to tail)
- Bandaging
- Splinting
- Various common pet illnesses or conditions
- What to do in poison emergencies
- What to put in a pet first aid kit & pet disaster kit
- Disaster preparedness for your pet
Course Length:
2-4 hours (depending on the class size)
