Medically retired from the U.S. Navy, Mattie is a Certified Hypnotherapist, Transformational Coach, Intuitive Healer, Human & Animal Rights Advocate, and Motivational Speaker.
Her previous experiences in teaching traffic school and vocational schools for CPR training empower her as a great instructor and facilitator. She conducted different classes and workshops from CPR Training to self-empowerment workshops each month. Her passion of sharing knowledge in CPR and First Aid reached out to other facilities, such as IRS, Symantec Corporation, APS, Dignity Health, Banner Health, local urgent care facilities, home health facilities, dental offices, non-profits organizations, daycare facilities, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and PIMA Medical Institute. Besides teaching at her own office, she was also teaching for Wizard Education LLC as a Staff BLS instructor while she was in Arizona.
Her passion in teaching and helping others have been shown since she was in the military with her outstanding leadership skills.
Mattie believes that learning CPR and First Aid is not only for fulfilling the requirements of job or profession, but also for the saving a life! We do not have to be a doctor in order to save a life. It is as easy as just to do compressions on a person in order to save a life. In 2019, Mattie was previously selected to be American Heart Association Sub-Committee Member for the West Region in the U.S. to promote Hands-Only CPR to the local communities in Greater Phoenix.
She is currently teaching classes in Central Maine.
Since she moved to Arizona, she began to rescue dogs. She now has a total of 10 rescue dogs and 4 rescue cats. She was a volunteer at local animal shelters Lost Our Home and Arizona Humane Society, and Second Chance Animal Hospital providing basic animal care, foster care, and playtime for the animals. Furthermore, she was a volunteer at Phoenix Dream Center and Sojourner Center. Besides fighting for social justice, she was also a volunteer Crisis Responder at Phoenix CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), Team Rubicon, and Companion Pets in Crisis.
Mattie has successfully completed Suicidal Prevention Training in SAFETALK and ASIST (2-day Training). She was a member of Arizona Suicide Prevention Coalition. She was also a supporting member of Arizona Coalition to End Sexual Violence & Domestic Violence at where she completed over 30 hours of the Sexual Violence Core Advocacy training and over 30 hours of Domestic Violence Advocacy Training required by the state of Arizona. She is dedicated her effort and time to help end the sexual violence, domestic violence, and human trafficking as an advocate.
In the Fall 2019, Mattie moved to East Tennessee. She continued to provide high quality training locally in East Tennessee.
In the Summer 2020, Mattie continues to serve the local community in Northern Maine after she decided to settle down in the beautiful rural area. She was working at Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP) as a Health & Safety Manager and continuously offered monthly CPR and First Aid training to their employees at ACAP and local community.
She has recently relocated to Central Maine serving Penobscot County.

Rocky Balboa
Rocky is Mattie's working buddy. He is a very mellow and loving Pitbull Healer mix dog.
He has been a greeting fellow at ZenCPR.com since the beginning of 2017 after Hank (previous buddy of Mattie) passed away in November 2016.
Rocky has successfully taken over the responsibility to be the ambassador for all Pitbull and Pitbull mix dogs to show the love and calmness he demonstrates at ZenCPR.com as well as in general public. Rocky is also the dog model for the Pro Pet Hero Training at ZenCPR.com.
